I loved the first book from the Men of the Mountains Series and this rivals that one in my heart. Plenty of action, intrigue and passionDeputy Sheriff Denny knew he was gay although he certainly wasn't out to his father, the sheriff or to the community. He was attracted to Ricky since high school but had no idea if Ricky felt the same. Didn't even know if he was gay. Ricky had a mutual attraction but never realized the truth of his own sexuality. Their fathers and grandfather's hated each other. When a foreign drug cartel moved in on their mountains, Denny and Ricky came up with a strategy for the future.
This author is a master at smoking hot intimate action in a well constructed tale of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This is the second book I've read in this series and I've loved both! I love the whole star crossed lover story. And I love when the boys get a happy ending! Ricky and Denny will keep your page turning. Enjoy!
A wonderful, intense and loving story. Ricky and Denny were two amazing men who risked all including death to be together. "Sweet Sorrow" was filled with action and drama and the sex was really hot. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this story. I was hoping for a bit longer and I had hoped to see the guys from the first story but I really liekd this story so it worked for me. Ricky and Denny are amazing.. I love seeing how they are trying to work past decades of hatred between two families. I love how they are working together even though their parents hated each other. It was a very good story
I loved the modern day play on the Hatfield-McCoy feud. The story was so well written. It drew me in with the very first paragraph and I did not put it down until I was finished reading Ricky and Denny's fantastic story. Their interactions were stripped down with no flowery romance, but at the same time, their interactions were full of emotion and a real, abiding connection.
There were parts of the story that were not completely fleshed out, but that was forgiven very easily, since the rest of it worked out so well.

After reading and absolutely loving the first book in the Men of the Mountains Series, I had high expectations for book 2 and wow did it ever exceed it! This was a classic Hatfield's and McCoy's feud but on a much greater scale and modernized to today. I fell in love with the two young men, Ricky, on the Blankenship side of the feud, and Denny, on the O'Brien side. Ricky's family have been mountain moonshiners for generations, and Denny's family has always been the law that wants to bring down their illegal operation. How could these two ever think that they could fall in love with each other? Ms. Scott weaves a scintillatingly intense story that brings these men together and sends them on a huge rollercoaster that brings violence, sadness, steamy sex, drugs, family honor and pride. But in the end, love wins and without giving out the surprise ending, a happily ever after! Keep bringing more of these mountain men Ms. Scott!

There's something about forbidden love that is just so darn sexy. Or maybe it's the light BDSM in this book that I loved. Either way, this was a fantastic book about two men who have to break with a hundred years of family tradition to find love. You'll love it as much as I do, I promise!
